Now this is really getting creepy, because I ALSO was super into Se7en/Rain before I got super into DBSK. Like I discovered DBSK first, but got distracted by Se7en/Rain while I was still digesting “Tri-Angle” ahaha.

Giiiiiirl! This is sketchy/awesome as fuck. 

I remember my friend went to China in 2006 and came back and was telling me all about her adventures. Then she showed me this cell phone charm she got from KFC in China that had Rain on it. And I flipped out because HOLY SHIT AN ASIAN POP STAR KEYCHAIN IN MY PODUNK TOWN OF 15, 000 ALL WHITE PEOPLE!!! And then I laughed because, lol, they were giving out Rain’s face at KFC in China. Order some chicken, get some Rain!! She then proceeded to freak out that I knew who Rain was, and show me some Ivy music videos. One of them was Cupido, and the other was the one where she redid that Tifa scene from Final Fantasy Advent Children. I remember being super mind blown that Korea had music videos, and that they were crazily well done. I didn’t have high speed back then (lol living in the woods and having dial up forever), so while I’d heard the music, I guess it never occurred to me that Korea would have impressive music videos to go along with the songs. Lives were changed that day~

I also remember that I had another friend who showed me that BoA music video where she like is blind and some dude gives her his eyes so she can see? I think he was a photographer too so it was supposed to be ~extra sad~, and she was all upset when I wasn’t crying profusely at the end of the video.

I kind of miss my carefree teenage days. I want to go back to before I knew what kpop was, before I met The Pilot, and when my life was infinitely simpler. Because as much as I love being 22, this whole perpetual student with no future thing is getting pretty bleak.

Ah, the infamous Kiss video for “Because I’m a Girl” (여자이니까). Pretty sure that’s the one you’re talking about. LOL. I didn’t cry when I first saw it, either… pretty sure that I laughed my ass off, actually, since it was just… too much. I mean, really? EYE TRANSPLANTS BECAUSE YOU FEEL RESPONSIBLE FOR HER EYES BEING WRECKED BY CHEMICALS? People… 

That story about the Rain keychain is hilarious, though. Is it sad that I kind of want one? Or just want to see one? That reminds me of a couple of weeks ago, when my friend and I totally saw this girl decked out in Shinee/Super Junior gear. I just happened to look down at her shoes and I was like “OMG CHRISTINA SHE HAS SUPER JUNIOR SHOELACES…” and then she had like this Shinee backpack and stuff. I dunno. After ALSO coming from a super white town where nobody knows where kpop is, it still kind of surprises me when kpop fans come out of the woodwork, even in Vancouver ahaha. Especially when they’re white. I mean, I’m white too, but finding a fellow white fan is an extra mindfuck. Like… this girl came into my work a couple of months ago with a JYJ tshirt on, and I was blown away… because this was in KELOWNA. 

ANYWAY. Haha! Kpop rambling <3 Funtimes. Also feel you re: the “carefreeness”~ I mean, I don’t feel like I have a lack of direction or anything, but the future kind of scares me more than I would like to admit D:
